Starting from a detached "God’s-eye view" before zooming in, 〈Unknown Site〉 reveals bodies resting across various locales. While they appear to be situated in peace, the work uncovers conflicting memories of instability and uncertainty within the gaps of these areas. Through the installation's immersive imagery, the virtual world leaps into the physical, conveying a profound sense of implication to the viewer. By engaging a real locale with one’s own body, the work bridges the environmental relationship between people and place, interweaving an unpredictable future with the inseparable spirit of karman.
Surrounded by plants, soil, and bricks, the installation implies that the site's most primitive state was Mother Nature itself. However, through human intervention and obscure alterations, a contradictory and ambiguous relationship emerges. The work satirizes the artificial reversion of the "concrete jungle" to nature while warning of the urban heat island effect, ultimately questioning if humanity can find an equilibrium between nature and modern society within the gaps of their coexistence.
